No Pictures of Evelyn?!? What Gives?

Hi everyone,

I know that it's a shock to the system to come to this blog and see a post without a picture of Evelyn in it, but we thought we'd give you the night off. I just wanted to make a quick post and invite you to pop on over and take a look at my personal blog, http://www.yourfellowcitizen.com.

I started writing this blog after learning that both major party candidates in this election faced questions about being eligible to hold the office of President. I thought that was odd, since the qualifications are clearly laid out in the Constitution. Upon looking more closely, though, I was surprised to find that there is no easily identifiable process that governs the certification of our Presidential candidates. The blog is about my "quest" to find out how this process works. For those with too much time, or an interest in how our democracy works, it might be worth a look...

Thanks!

Justin

More pictures for your daily Evelyn fix...

...at the grocery store

...playing Mozart.

...wearing Mommy's makeup. :)

Halloweenies!

Fairy Princess Evie and Adorable Froggie (Nathan) meet at the Ward Trunk-or-Treat, but she declines to kiss the frog on camera--stagefright? I'm sure there will be kissing in the months to come... (wink! wink!)
Here's Evie enjoying her spoils... Justin bought the costume. Good taste, eh?

We both love our little pixie!

A Girl of Many Faces

All these silly faces, one very funny little girl...

Pottie Time

Evelyn has shown increased interest in using the bathroom. So we bought a little pottie at a thrift store, and since then she has used it for everything except going pottie:

...as a stepping stool,
...a vanity seat,

...show and tell,

...more show and tell,

...and a suitcase (inside are toys).

Maybe someday she'll get the idea! :)

Bad hair day...

Evelyn did her own hair, and then had the most priceless face ever...

Return of the Cousins... :)

Evie's cousins, Keaton and Porter, came to play again. They are moving so we won't see them again anytime soon! They were so cute on the swings, I thought I'd post it! They both wanted to hold their "Ebbie."

Mommy and Evie play in the leaves

We were feeling sick a couple of weeks ago, but we had to go outside and see our maple tree and play in the leaves.

This tree was dubbed "Blaze" by the former owners of our home. It's the pride of the neighborhood!

Great Grandpa Conway

This week also Evelyn met Great Grandpa Conway for the first time. He lives in Oceanside, CA, and even I haven't seen him in 20 years! It was a treat. And he spoiled Evelyn with lots of new toys. So he's really made an impression! Evelyn I'm sure will anticipate his return. (That's my mom with Grandpa and Evie.)

Evelyn's Undercover Op

We discovered this week that Evelyn is actually an FBI agent, working undercover. Fortunately, Justin and I have averted suspicion of any grossly aberrant behavior, and have gained her trust--enough so that she is letting us assist her in her first mission... ...to change this intergalactic boy's-boy room... ...into a party room fit for a female that is "sugar and spice and everything nice"!!

She believes the operation was a success. So much so that she's messed it up a few times, now, to make sure it's properly broken in. She also seems to play more in her room now, which we are happy about, and she likes to point at the flowers on the wall. :)

Tanner and the Bread

My dear friend Cassandra Stewart paid me once in banana bread to watch her little boy Tanner.

Boy, it was some gooood bread. The kids practically vacuumed it up watching cartoons. Probably the best banana bread ever tasted...

I love kids. Hilarious!

'xcuse me, did you say somshing?

Other Family at Estes...

Sophie and Adam
Sophie, Nisha & Keaton
Justin's grandmother, Evelyn Wolsey, a.k.a Gigi (for whom Evie was named!)
April and Kevin
Ben, Porter, Keaton, Josie (April & Kevin's daughter) and Cousin Jen making cookies... Yum!
And Colleen took and edited the photos beautifully, as ever!

Estes Vacation

Justin's family had a reunion at Estes Park this summer--a week packed with golfing, swimming fishing and crafts. Of course, you have to have the crafts!

We had so much fun and got some lovely family photos as souvenirs!
From left to right: Adam, Sophie, Nisha, Annelise, Justin, Evie, Brent (Dad), me, Amanda, Porter, Colleen (Mom), Ben and Keaton

Nisha brought this inflatable Dora toy that comes with all of these balls. Evie thought she died and went to heaven. Anyone who knows Nisha will probably agree she is the best ever!

Catching up on July 4th...

Well, this just shows you how behind I've gotten. Here are some pics of our July 4th (2008). We were lucky to spend time with lots of family who came in from out of town. Here's my sister (the Sarah Palin lookalike--weird!) with Evelyn, and in the other pics, her son Dawson with Evie.

Dawson has a dream personality! Almost always happy! He and Evie spent a lot of time staring at eachother, but I think the boundaries are now clearly defined: you touch the sippy, you get hurt. :)
Don'tcha love those big brown eyes?
